Subject: Warsh Talks, Nvidia Buys, and 0DTE Degeneracy Keeps Printing
My fellow exit-liquidity providers,
The week ended with the Fed talking, Nvidia buying, and a disturbing number of you turning five figures into six by accident. The sub's official position is best captured by the guy who risked $133K to make $398.32 and called it "Retarded." Let's get to the tape.
NVDA: Nvidia reportedly agreed to buy Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, and the sub decided that's either "$12 billion is like $12 dollars in 2026" money or "$12 billion for a homepage with some inference backend. lol". The same ticker minted one regard's $82K calls after he almost sold at a $25K loss, while the older NVDA at $12 thread still has people quietly admitting they bought 6,000 shares at that price. If the AI bubble is a balloon, NVDA is now buying the factory that makes the helium.
KEVIN WARSH / JACKSON HOLE: Kevin Warsh sharpened his inflation warning at Jackson Hole and signaled a possible rate hike; the analysis drew 1.4k upvotes and a top comment that he's "super duper serious about inflation this time You guys". The thread then discovered Rule34 Inflation and demanded the Fed "just hike rates already you coward". If monetary policy is now a meme, at least it's a highly-upvoted one.
MRVL: Marvell's earnings beat wasn't big enough for already sky-high expectations, leaving the sub to conclude "being right about the company doesn't mean you're right about the trade". One trader still made $14,896 on $240 puts after spotting MACD weakness, while the thread waited for the guy who YOLO'ed half a million to check in. Marvell may be a great company someday; the options chain was not.
AVGO / SNOW / DELL / MDB: Next week's earnings thread is already a support group: AVGO gives one commenter PTSD as "the one that started the semi decline," SNOW gets put recommendations because it's "literally never had a net positive income", and DELL calls are warned they'll mint "a new generation of bagholders". The same commenter shrugs "SNOW and MDB priced in so puts?" until it isn't — his old MDB calls dropped to the 250s before the stock ran to 440+. The weekly earnings thread is the only place where "priced in so puts?" passes for analysis.
SPY: The 0DTE casino paid out $105K to a guy whose portfolio went as low as $55K, a 3,000-contract monster with the self-awareness to say "I didn't deserve this win". Another regard doubled $25K but left $75K on the table, while a third turned puts into $73K and admitted "gambling paid this time". Somewhere in the weekend thread, someone risked $133K to make $398.32 and called it "Retarded."
IREN: The "might be a downside after all" post arrived the same day IREN fell 13%, because timing is a regard's love language. The bear case says IREN is still ~81% a bitcoin miner, wrote down $638M in ASIC scrap, and holds $1.84B in customer money that isn't revenue yet; the bull case insists the AI datacenter pivot will make it a monster by next year. The $684M net loss has the thread split between "shorting to zero" and "just doubled up on my shares".
PYPL: The Advent-Stripe consortium reportedly dropped its pursuit of PayPal and PYPL fell 12%, because the only thing worse than a buyout rumor is a buyout rumor that dies. The sub's diagnosis: "the deal fell through when someone reminded Advent that Venmo is literally the only part of PayPal that people under 35 use on purpose", while one bagholder admitted it "tanked faster then my options". Congress kept buying all the way up, but the one insider who bought at $41 got there before the fun.
IONQ: A self-described minimum-wage guy YOLOed into IONQ, stared at a 17% dip, and wrote a whole lot of words about how the AI hype is "on the verge of a break down." The top comment trimmed it to "bro wrote a whole lotta nothing", and the headlines are just asking why IonQ is sinking. If quantum computing is the future, the present is apparently nausea.
MCD: The "McDanks" thesis is slowly accumulating long-term leaps — March 2027 220/300 spreads plus Jan 2028 naked calls. The sub's top reply: "Don't worry they will mention something about AI in the next earnings and moon", while Canadians pay $15 CAD for a meal and call McDonald's a luxury. If the golden arches can't fix inflation, maybe Warsh can.
SLS: A $10K stake turned into $120K in under a year, and the sub's response was "Umm, you're not allowed to make money on here. Go to r/stocks". One commenter is already planning to sell on a buyout at between $60 and $80 a share, which is either a thesis or a prayer. Either way, it's the rare SLS bagholder bingo free square.
BAGHOLDER BINGO: The sub's most accurate trading model remains the "regarded edition" bingo card, with the comment section supplying squares like "No cell no sell", "MOASS INCOMING BOYS (saying this for the last 6 years)", and "Believe it or not: calls". One commenter admitted it "looks like my comment history". If this were an ETF, it would be the only thing in the market in an uptrend.
SHORT UNTIL NOVEMBER?: A seasonal chart argues for a correction into October and a rebound by November, which the sub greeted with "Yeah we're all collectively selling, didn't you see the message in group chat?". One commenter countered "As we all know, past events are 100% predictors of future moves. Short the shit out of it!" with "could go up or down". That's the entire quant research department sorted.
The weekend thread has already mapped out 2027: AI bubble popped, dollar bust, burgers at $500 with a side of diarrhea. At Hindsight Capital, we invest in what already happened, so this report is basically a love letter to your future tax-loss harvesting. Stay solvent (somehow),
